FURNITURE CARE

As wood is a noble and "living" material, to keep your furniture in perfect condition, we advise you toavoid:
- Leaving doors permanently open, as they may warp,
- Placing furniture too close to a heat source - Climbing on furniture or moving it when loaded.

On the other hand, it's a good idea to have a humidifier in your rooms, as an excessively dry atmosphere, especially for solid or antique furniture, can lead to damage such as wood warping, joint splintering or even cracks in solid panels.

For care and cleaning, we recommend:
- Waxed furniture:
use a dry, soft, lint-free cloth, waxing if necessary with a natural, alcohol-free furniture wax.
- Varnished furniture: use a dry, soft, lint-free cloth, wiping in the direction of the wood grain to avoid scratching. Avoid damp cloths, as moisture penetrating the varnish layer may damage it.
- Furniture with marquetry: remove dust with a feather duster, as cloths may snag the veneer.

Beware of certain "renovators" (read the instructions carefully, and always test on a hidden part).

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER & FABRIC SEATS

To avoid leather discoloration, drying out and other accidents:
- Do not expose your salon to sunlight, moonlight, excessive heat or humidity,
- Avoid the use of solvents, petrol, alcohol, siliconized products or wax,
- Do not leave to age without intervention, stains from liquids, ink, chocolate and other greasy substances,
- Dust twice a month with a soft cloth or slightly damp chamois,
- Clean with a special soap or cleaning milk.

For "velvet" or "nubbuck" seats:
-
Lightly brush with a brush or suede rubber.

The same applies to your fabric and microfiber seats:
- Take into account the texture of the fabric and the specific advice given to you by your store.

When in doubt, call in a professional at your Mobilier de France store.
